Savoring childhood with CREATIVITY, CONNECTION, EXPRESSIONÂ and beautiful artwork for your walls!Â
Hello... I'm Meg
I live in Southern California with my husband, 3 kids, 4 chickens, 2 cats, 1 dog, 1 fish and a very tiny hamster. We love being at the beach, camping in our trailer, hiking local trails or enjoying our backyard with some good friends.
I attended to Biola University and majored in Art. After graduating, I spent some time working for a non-profit, bringing art back into the public school system. My next job was at a private school, teaching art to kindergarten through middle school. And after this, I landed my dream job… becoming a MOM! I’ve stayed home with my kids ever since, but continued to teach art out of my backyard or at our local bookshop and toy store downtown.
I was raised by a psychologist mom and custom furniture maker dad. I don't doubt that the combo of emotional health and creativity impacted who I am and how I teach.
IN 2018, I BECAME CERTIFIED THROUGH ART4HEALING TO LEAD THERAPEUTIC ART WORKSHOPS. I IMMEDIATELY BEGAN INTEGRATING THESE PRACTICES INTO MY OTHER ART CLASSES AND HAVE SEEN BEAUTIFUL RESULTS.
When it comes to school for our three kids, we’ve always kept an open mind and a philosophy of “one year at a time, one kid at a time”. And so school has looked different each year. We've done public, private, and homeschool. The one consistency each year is the role that ART played in their lives and the way it benefited parts of their world. We learned though creativity, we brought art projects to do with great-grandparents at their assisted living homes, we mailed paintings and love letters to family out of state, when feelings like anger, embarrassment or confusion were sometimes shown in big unhealthy ways, we practiced expressing and sharing through doodles and colors. Sketchbooks were brought everywhere… doctors offices, long car rides, the beach, field trips and vacations. We very quickly filled up our walls, refrigerator, and printed albums that were made solely for art projects that I didn’t have room for.
I BELIEVE THAT ANYONEÂ CAN LEARN TO FILL THEIR HOME + LIFE WITH ART AND CREATIVITY!

My girls learn so much in Miss Meg's art classes. The favorites have been where they have learned about an artist and created artwork with similar techniques that the artist used. Not only do I get beautiful quality art, but the girls gain a CONFIDENCE and KNOWLEDGE that they didn’t have before taking the class.

After class my daughter shared "In the therapeutic art class, Miss Meg helped me get some of my feelings out that I didn't even know were there."
